Hub Cap Annie was founded by Jane Withers, a Denver businesswoman whose entrepreneurial spirit and successful battle against addiction helped her build one of the country's largest hub cap and wheelcover facilities, and given her exposure on national television radio and print media, including 60 Minutes and Car and Driver Magazine, and made her a Denver Icon.
Jane is still an active member of the Denver community and is a frequent speaker on the topics of overcoming addiction and insisting on success.
If you live around the Denver, Colorado area, chances are good that you 'know' about Hub Cap Annie. There's even a pretty good chance you know about Jane Withers and her battle with alcohol, amphetamine and food addictions.
Prior to opening Hub Cap Annie in 1982, most of Jane's professional career had been in nursing. She later worked in pharmaceutical sales in Arkansas, where she was careful to work for a company that did not manufacture diet pills.
Then one day her employer sent samples of her new weight reduction products, and Jane realized that something had to change. That's when she happened to see that there was someone in Memphis selling used hubcaps and having fun.
|
For a couple of thousand dollars, Jane got a road map, 600 hub caps, and the right to use the Hub Cap Annie name. She loaded up a U-Haul trailer and headed to Denver where the first Hub Cap Annie USA location was opened on East Colfax Avenue.

|
After more than two decades of hard work and good marketing, Jane established Hub Cap Annie as one of the country's leading hubcap retailers. She sold the business to the Zugar Hub Cap & Wheel Company in 2008. |
Besides John Elway, Buffalo Bill Cody, Annie Oakley and Molly Brown, she may be the most recognized face in Denver . Annie's Valkyrie outfit still graces all of our advertising to this day.
Below is some of the media excitement generated by Jane as Hubcap Annie USA!
